Functional principle
A heating or cooling media flows through the channels at the primary side.
The media to be heated or cooled flows through the parallel channels at the secondary side.
Primary or secondary flow channels are arranged alternately.
When the media is evaporated or condensed, it is called a two-phase application.
The flow direction of both media can be arranged as counter-flow, co-current or cross-flow.
The heat is transferred via the corrugated plates.
Turbulences at the surface of the plates significantly multiply the heat transfer rate compared to laminar flows.
